I first spoke to Kate Bell from Hill McGlynn in August 2007 when she telephoned me to advise me of an administration vacancy with Miller Construction. I spoke to Kate on the Wednesday, went for the interview on the Thursday and was immediately offered the position.
This is true testament that Kate new exactly what sort of person to look for and what experience and qualities were needed for this role.
During my contact with Kate she has always been very friendly, informative and very very professional, I felt extremely happy with the way in which Kate kept in touch with me and she reassured me at every step until I started my new role with Miller Construction. I cannot let this moment pass without writing a message to you in praise of your Consultant, Tom Evans. Thanks to him I have secured a position as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a leading, global consultancy - EC Harris.
First of all, Tom persuaded me that I should return to the PQS fold to take advantage of the many exciting opportunities that now exist. I had originally applied for a construction position. Very soon he had fixed me up with several interviews including EC Harris, Gleeds and a couple of small practices nearer home in Swansea.
At the time EC Harris did not have a vacancy having interviewed me speculatively but Gleeds were interested. Without boring you with the details, Gleeds eventually decided to appoint a young intermediate surveyor.
I was beginning to lose hope but Tom managed to keep my spirits up. Without telling me, he resumed contact with EC Harris promoting my case. Next thing I knew I had received a very good offer from them.
At all times Tom has kept in touch, maintained my confidence levels, made me laugh, boosted my confidence with pre-interview briefings, always returned my phone calls and appeared to know instinctively what I was looking for.
I have been advised by recruitment consultants in the past but they invariably disappeared when obstacles appeared. Not Tom. He thrives on obstacles.
I have come to the conclusion that if all recruitment consultants in the construction industry were like Tom there would be no unemployment. He is awesome.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to thank Emily Andersen for managing to find me a job as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
I was very impressed with how the interview went between myself and her and how supportive she was. She explained how the agency worked and was very reassuring that I would find a new employer that suited my needs. In the interview she discussed my previous employment and what my ambitions are to be.
She guaranteed me that she would spend her time finding me a suitable job and made it clear that many companies would be interested in myself. She took her time out on her busy schedule by producing and up-to-date CV which saved me a lot of time. Within a few days she had arranged two interviews with two different companies which would suit my needs.
She sent me contact details and route planner maps to help me on my journeys and gave me advice on how I should approach each interview which gave me the confidence to go into the interviews. After each interview she would call me to see what my thoughts were and to see how it went.
